About this listing
Overview The 7 Bridges Marathon is Chattanooga's road marathon, a course that crosses seven of the city's bridges, with race day centered on Coolidge Park. Race weekend adds the Desmond Doss Memorial 4 Bridges Half Marathon, a 4 Bridges 10K, a 2 Bridges 5K and a Kiddie K for children. Scenic City Multisport, a Chattanooga race promoter and timer, owns and runs it. On site The marathon takes in all seven bridges, the half marathon and 10K cross the four downtown bridges, and the 5K crosses two. The half marathon starts and finishes at Coolidge Park, with aid stations nearly every mile. Race weekend includes an expo and a VIP area, every finisher gets a medal, and the races are livestreamed from Coolidge Park on Facebook Live and YouTube. The half marathon is named for Pfc. Desmond Doss, the Seventh-day Adventist who refused to carry a weapon in World War II and won the Medal of Honor for saving 75 men at Okinawa without firing a shot. Audience In 2023 runners came from 48 states and more than five countries, and runner reviews call it a good race for first-timers and seasoned marathoners alike. Runners come back: the 2025 e-blast list held more than 11,000 past participants, and finishers' reviews talk about bringing kids and returning every year. Track record 2025 counted 3,462 registered runners and an estimated 4,500 spectators. When the half was renamed for Doss in 2016, Lionsgate came on as a partner around Hacksaw Ridge and screened sneak previews for sponsors with producer Terry Benedict, the first marathon the studio had backed. Proceeds from Scenic City Multisport events have gone to Susan G. Komen Chattanooga, Make-A-Wish and McKamey Animal Shelter. Brand presence Partners get expo space at the race and at the Scenic City Mud Run, air time on the livestream, logos on registration pages and post-race photos, flyers in goody bags, VIP race entries and a slot in Scenic City Multisport's e-blast to more than 20,000 athletes, with exposure carrying across its other races. Partners also get invited to Partner Appreciation Nights: one in the luxury boxes at a Chattanooga Lookouts game, others built around the openings of Top Gun: Maverick and Mission: Impossible.
