About this listing
Overview The Bay Bridge Run is a 10K that hands the eastbound span of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge to runners and walkers for a morning, with 4.35 miles of the course over open water on a bridge that is otherwise closed to pedestrians. The point-to-point route starts on the Anne Arundel County side near Annapolis and finishes on Kent Island in Queen Anne's County. Corrigan Sports Enterprises, a Maryland race and event company founded in 1991, organizes it; its other events include the Baltimore 10 Miler and the Frederick Running Festival. On site The first two miles climb to nearly 200 feet above the water, at a grade of no more than 3%, and the course comes back down the same 200 feet to the Eastern Shore. The field goes off in waves, and walkers keep to the right-hand lane. There is one self-serve water stop at mile 3, and each registrant gets two hours to finish, and a vehicle picks up anyone still on the course after that. Shuttles run to the start from parking in both counties. The course ends at a post-race party near the finish with live music, food, drinks and family activities. Track record The run went dark for three years after its 2018 edition, and Corrigan Sports brought it back with Sean Ryan Sports Enterprises on October 31, 2021. The 2025 race was canceled the night before over a forecast of severe weather and was not rescheduled. Its charity program that year raised $33,171 for the Chesapeake Conservancy against a $30,000 goal.
