Overview The DODS Diving League is the pro circuit for døds, the Norwegian death dive: athletes run off a 10- to 13-meter tower, fly out flat toward the water and fold into a tuck at the last instant, and about 5,000 people crowded the harbor in Arendal for the 2026 World Championship. The International Døds Federation's league runs a World Tour, the World Championship and a junior league. The 2026 tour was the league's fifth official season, with stops in Charlotteville, Tobago; the Aquafolies waterpark in Bourg-en-Bresse, France; Senderland in Epping, New Hampshire; and Fredrikstad before the final in Arendal. On site Each stop brings 30 to 40 athletes through qualifying and knockout rounds, cutting to 20, then 10, then five. A panel of three to five judges scores each dive from 0 to 10 on the run-up, the flight, the landing and overall impression; classic dives stay flat with no full rotations, freestyle dives must rotate, and landings come in shrimp, bullet and no-hands. On the tour, men and women compete in one class, and the World Championship splits them. Døds Academy runs courses for locals and visitors at the stops. Audience The league calls døds one of the most viral and shareable sports on digital platforms and pitches it to Gen Z and Gen Alpha. The 2026 Senderland stop streamed live in a social-first format on the league's own channels, and its July 4 date put the dive inside a New Hampshire festival crowd. Talent and Influencers Reagan Popoff of the United States won the 2026 World Tour, took the Fredrikstad final and became U.S. champion at Senderland on the nation's 250th anniversary. Germany's Sofie Hrubasik and Norway's Jakob Liabø won the 2026 world titles, with Kimberley Benson of the U.S. third among the women. Spain's Pacome Pegaz won Senderland; in 2024 he became the first non-Norwegian world champion. Track record Døds is said to have started at the Frognerbadet pools in Oslo in the summer of 1982, and the first World Championship was held in 2008. The 2026 World Championship went out on NRK, ESPN and DAZN, and ESPN's coverage of the Senderland stop was distributed to more than 60 countries. The league counted more than 200 million views across its digital channels over the 2026 season. Brand presence Athletes compete in teams, and teams carry their backers' names: Team Kvarøy won the 2026 team title ahead of Nordic Legends and Sudden Rush, and 00Nation and ZendyZone finished second and third behind Kvarøy at the Fredrikstad final. The league sells franchise teams, independent team entries, sponsorships, broadcast rights and host-city deals. In 2026 it partnered with Stiftelsen Organdonasjon to raise organ-donation awareness among young Norwegians.
