About this listing
Overview The Kennett Holiday Light Parade sends about 100 lighted floats, marching bands, dance groups, trucks and tractors down State Street in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, after dark, and at the end Santa Claus arrives to light the community tree. Kennett Collaborative, the borough's downtown nonprofit, produces it and supplies the tree, and times the lighting so snow begins to fall. Kennett Collaborative was incorporated in 1986, and it counted 2.4 million visits to the State Street business district in 2025. Kennett Square's mushroom farms grow about half the country's crop. On site The parade runs along State and Broad Streets, and in 2026 it ran from 6 to 8 in the evening. Every entry, from community organizations' floats to trucks and tractors, is covered in lights. Announcers call the parade as it passes, and the lighting of the tree closes the night. Audience Kennett Collaborative counts nearly 20,000 spectators, more than three times the borough's population of about 5,900 at the 2020 census, so most of the crowd comes from outside the borough. The parade opens a holiday run downtown: the Collaborative's Holiday Village Market at The Creamery follows on December weekends, and Tinsel on the Town brings evening shopping to State Street before Christmas. Brand presence Sponsorship is sold in four levels. Every level gets the company name read by the announcers, signs along the route, a listing on the parade page and a place in the Collaborative's emails and social posts. The upper levels add 30-second announcer spots during the parade, one to four depending on level, and the top level carries the parade as "brought to you by" in press releases, with a custom social video. Square Pear Gallery was listed as a 2026 sponsor.
