About this listing
Overview PA Bacon Fest takes over downtown Easton, Pennsylvania, for a weekend every November with 185-plus vendors, more than 35 live performances across its stages and contests that run from bacon eating to swine holding. It is held 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the first full weekend of November, rain or shine, with stages on Centre Square, North 3rd Street, 3rd and Ferry and the Free Bridge. Parade.com named it one of the country's five can't-miss bacon festivals, Lehigh Valley Style readers voted it Best Festival and Best Culinary Event, and FEST300 listed it among its top 300 festivals in the world. The Greater Easton Development Partnership, the downtown's development organization, runs it. On site The contests run on the Easton Farmers' Market stage at North Second and Northampton: Bacon Bingo, a pet costume contest and the swine holding competition. Kids' activities, from rock climbing to slime making and face painting, run inside the Easton Public Market on Northampton Street. The Piggy Bank VIP Lounge sits inside the Bank Street Annex with food and drink, raffles, private bathrooms and three screens of football, college on Saturday and the pros on Sunday. There is a beer garden, a brews and booze tasting, a Pigskin Lounge and a jumbotron, and the Racin' Bacon 5K runs the same weekend. Audience The festival draws from across the East Coast, and most of the crowd parks at shuttle lots outside the city and rides a bus in, or walks from the two city garages. It brings its children: the grounds are stroller-friendly, the Easton Public Market has diaper-changing stations and the Sigal Museum sets aside a quiet room for nursing parents. November weather swings from hot sun to hoodies and gloves, and the festival sells hoodies and beanies at its own merch stands. Brand presence Sponsors come in at four levels, from Friend to Premier, and a sponsor can take the presenting credit on a single attraction: a stage, the Kids' Zone, the beer garden, the tasting, the jumbotron, the Pigskin Lounge, the VIP zone, the selfie station, the prize wheel, the 50/50 raffle or one of the contests. Booths run from a standard 10 by 10 up to a 10 by 20 top-level spot, and the higher levels add live mentions from stage, jumbotron slides and a logo in an email that reaches 18,000 recipients. Packages also carry VIP lounge passes and entries to the 5K.
