About this listing
Overview Professional Sports Partners (PSP) is a Houston sports marketing agency that sells brand partnerships in neutral-site college basketball. This series packages four early-season, non-conference events in three markets: a men's game at Frontwave Arena in Oceanside, California, a men's doubleheader at Toyota Center in Houston, and a men's and a women's doubleheader at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. Each event is sold as its own partnership, so a brand can take one market or several. On site Neutral-site games take a matchup off campus and into a pro arena, with both fan bases in the same building. In Nashville the games tip at Bridgestone Arena on Broadway, the home of the Nashville Predators, a short walk from the honky-tonks. Houston's games are at Toyota Center downtown, home of the Rockets, and the Oceanside game is at Frontwave Arena in north San Diego County. At the three doubleheaders two games run back to back on the same court, so the building fills for one game and refills for the next. Audience College basketball's regular season averages 1.43 million viewers a game on CBS, 1.22 million on FOX and 1.1 million on ESPN, all up by double digits last season. The Nashville and Houston events are slated for ESPN and Oceanside for The CW. In the arena it is alumni, students and families from SEC, ACC, Big 12 and Mountain West programs. Talent and Influencers The matchups are San Diego State against New Mexico State; Tennessee against NC State and Georgia Tech against Murray State; Florida State against Texas A&M and Texas against Miami; and on the women's side the Lady Vols against Baylor and Vanderbilt against Belmont. Rick Barnes brings Tennessee back to Nashville against NC State's Justin Gainey, his former associate head coach, and Vanderbilt arrives with the reigning national coach of the year, Shea Ralph, and SEC Player of the Year Mikayla Blakes. Track record PSP has worked in college basketball for more than a decade, across 200-plus games and 50-plus events in 15 cities. With event owner bdG Sports it has sold the lead partners for the Continental Tire Challenge, where Duke and Gonzaga drew 2.79 million ESPN viewers, and The Clash presented by The Halal Guys. The Mattress Firm Battleground in Houston returned $9 million in earned media. Brand presence The Oceanside game and the Nashville women's doubleheader take a title partner, and the Nashville men's doubleheader a presenting partner. Those partners get their logo built into the event logo, a logo on the court, courtside LED time in every game and :30 commercials inside the TV broadcast. The Houston partnership carries the court logo, courtside LED and a :30 broadcast spot in both games.
