About this listing
Overview Queens Night Market is a free Saturday-night open-air market behind the New York Hall of Science in Flushing Meadows Corona Park, where most food is capped at $6 a dish, up from the original $5. Up to 100 independent vendors sell food, art and merchandise from 4 p.m. to midnight, April through October, and the market says its cooks have brought food from more than 100 countries. It runs as a social enterprise: the market underwrites vendor fees to keep stalls within reach of first-time, immigrant-owned and women-owned businesses. On site The market sits behind the Hall of Science, four blocks from the 7 train at 111th Street, and runs rain or shine. Food stalls sit alongside art and merchandise vendors, beer and wine are sold on site, and small-scale cultural performances run through the night; the market counts more than 100 a season, from Japanese taiko drummers to Caribbean steelpan bands and Brazilian percussion. Most vendors take cash first, and an ATM is on the grounds. In 2026 the season opened with two ticketed sneak previews in April. Audience The market describes its crowd as a cross section of New Yorkers and says the price cap makes it an affordable weekend night out for immigrant and underserved families. Track record The market opened in April 2015 with 40 vendors, paused in 2020 for the pandemic and came back in 2021, and by 2023 Saturday nights were averaging around 20,000 visitors. It counts nearly 4 million visitors since opening and close to 500 new small businesses launched from its stalls. The New York Times placed it No. 9 on its list of the city's best restaurants in 2023 and No. 23 in 2024, and in 2025 named it one of the food moments that changed life in New York. USA Today named it the best city food festival in 2024, and the Financial Times and Lonely Planet listed it among the world's best markets that year. John Wang and Storm Garner published the market's cookbook, The World Eats Here, in 2020. The market has partnered with The Met, NYC Pride and The Public Theater. Brand presence Brands can take a space on the market floor, from 10 by 10 feet up to 10 by 40, back the cultural performance program as its programming partner, or sign on at champion or title level across the season. Citizens Bank and the Community Preservation Foundation were listed as sponsors for 2026.
