About this listing
Overview San Diego Restaurant Week is a countywide dining week held twice a year, in January and September, when more than 100 restaurants from Oceanside to Chula Vista serve multi-course menus at set prices and no ticket, pass or coupon is needed: diners simply ask for the Restaurant Week menu. The California Restaurant Association's San Diego County Chapter presents it, and a portion of restaurant participation fees goes to Restaurants Care, a nonprofit that gives relief grants to California restaurant workers. On site Menus go up online before each week, so diners compare them and pick where to book, and a map on the homepage plots every participating restaurant across the county's 12 regions. In January 2026 two-course lunches started at $20 and three-course dinners at $30, running up to $60 at the fine-dining end, and some restaurants counted a drink as a course. The September 2026 week carried more than 120 restaurants across 30-plus neighborhoods, with lunch, dinner and brunch menus. Reservations are encouraged and walk-ins welcome, and the regular menu stays available beside the Restaurant Week one. Audience The website is the front door. In the association's 2026 sponsor deck, 74% of site visitors were new and 91% were in California, led by San Diego, Los Angeles, Chula Vista, Carlsbad and El Cajon, with New York inside the top ten. The diner email reaches 48,000 subscribers, and a separate channel of emails and text messages reaches more than 200 restaurant owners, chefs and managers. Brand presence Sponsor levels are named for the meal - Entrée, Dessert, Appetizer, Fork and Knife - and can be bought for one season or both. The Entrée sponsor is the title sponsor on all print and digital materials, frames the interactive map on the homepage, carries a banner on every restaurant's profile page, joins a local TV segment before the week and can send offers and a dedicated email to participating restaurants. Every level reaches both sides of the table, diners through the email and social posts and restaurants through their own emails and texts, and every sponsor agrees to promote the week on its own channels. Specialty Produce and North County Transit District were among the sponsors on the 2026 site.
