About this listing
Overview The All American Quarter Horse Congress is the largest horse show in the world. For a month every fall, the Ohio Quarter Horse Association fills the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus with American Quarter Horse halter and performance classes, futurities and stakes, roping, reining, a bull riding and a freestyle reining night. General admission is free, and the show draws hundreds of thousands of competitors, families and fans to central Ohio. It ranks as Ohio's largest event by economic impact. On site Competition runs across several arenas and stalling barns at once, from dawn classes to night riding. The trade show covers more than 20 acres with the industry's leading tack, apparel, feed, trailer and vet vendors. Ticketed nights include Congress PBR bull riding and NRHA Freestyle Reining. Sponsors can name a competition arena or stalling barn, become a Corporate Partner with arena signage, jumbo screen and livestream video, present a futurity or stakes class, sponsor a class, underwrite a free parking day, take trade show space, or buy print, door decal, website, livestream and social advertising. Audience Exhibitors, trainers, breeders, youth riders and their families come from across the United States and Canada, and many stay for weeks. The AQHA member survey puts the average member at 45 with a household income near $103,000, mostly rural and college-educated. A large email list, a busy website and a free livestream reach fans who cannot make the trip. Talent and Influencers The arenas are full of the sport's top professional trainers, non pro and amateur riders and youth competitors, alongside AQHA, NRHA and NSBA judges. The Pro Horsemen Perspective series puts leading trainers in front of fans, and the Congress Queen contest, the Collegiate and Youth Judging Contests and the Congress Super Sale add their own followings. Professional bull riders headline the PBR night. Track record The Congress began decades ago as a small Ohio show and grew into the largest single-breed horse show anywhere, awarding millions in cash and prizes each year. The All Star Reining Stakes signed a multi-year extension to run its futurity and derby alongside it. Coughlin Automotive, Crown Royal, dac, Durango Boots, John Deere, Perri's Leather, Tribute Equine Nutrition and The Equine Chronicle hold official designations. Brand presence Corporate partners include Boot Barn, CINCH, Lucchese, Huntington Bank, Markel Insurance, Montana Silversmiths, Schneiders Saddlery, NRS, Rafter P Construction and Richwood Bank. Tenda Horse Products & Farm Paint brings viewers the free livestream, and Huntington Bank, Stallion Transportation Group and the NSBA cover free parking Wednesdays. Brands show up through building names, arena signage, class presentations and award photos, jumbo screen and livestream video, print books and a large trade show footprint.
