Overview The Annapolis Running Festival is a spring half marathon, 10K and 5K that start and finish at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, and the half-marathon course loops downtown past Church Circle and City Dock before it crosses the Naval Academy Bridge over the Severn. Corrigan Sports Enterprises, the race company behind the Baltimore Running Festival and the Baltimore Ten Miler, produces it. The first edition ran in March 2023, and it reached its 2,500-runner capacity that year. On site Race morning centers on the stadium, with parking in its lots and the start at 7 a.m. The half-marathon course runs Main Street around Church Circle, passes City Dock and Ego Alley, skirts the Naval Academy, crosses the bridge and turns on a 1.5-mile out-and-back on the Baltimore and Annapolis Trail with views of the Severn River Bridge; the time limit is three and a half hours. Finishers come back into Celebration Village for refreshments and the festival's annual sock burning to welcome spring. The inaugural year's after-party added live music, Michelob Ultra, and a raw bar of oysters and steamed shrimp. Audience The short course brings in families: the 5K takes runners from age five, the 10K from ten and the half from thirteen. Runners who also finish the Baltimore Ten Miler and the Ocean City Running Festival in the same year earn the Chessie Challenge medal and VIP perks. Track record The 2023 race raised $2,321 for the Annapolis Police Foundation through a Charity Chaser program and more than $3,500 for Friends of the Anne Arundel County Trails. A first-year finisher's review singled out the free Dunkin' before the start and the raw bar after it. Brand presence Past partners have included Kaiser Permanente, whose name went on the festival as title sponsor, New Balance, which made the exclusive race shirts, and Giant Food, which stocked the post-race snacks.
