About this listing
Overview The Atlanta Dogwood Festival is a three-day spring art festival in Piedmont Park, built around a juried market of about 260 artists, and it reached its 90th edition in 2026, a run that began on April 19, 1936, when the city invited the world to its first Dogwood Festival. The festival counts itself the nation's third-oldest fine arts festival. The 2026 artists were picked from nearly 1,000 applicants and work in painting, photography, sculpture, metal, jewelry, ceramics, fiber and wood. It is run by the nonprofit Atlanta Dogwood Festival, Inc., incorporated in 1987. On site The artist market shares the park with the Coca-Cola Main Stage, which carries rock, pop, jazz and blues through the weekend. The International Stage put on acts from Laos, Bulgaria, Taiwan, Ireland, India, the Philippines, Lithuania, Mexico, China, Colombia and Turkey in 2026. The Greater Atlanta Dog and Disc Club runs the Ashley Whippet Invitational and a Skyhoundz World Qualifier on Saturday and Sunday, a festival fixture for more than two decades. There is a beer garden and the Party in the Park VIP area with a private bar, food, premium restrooms and reserved main-stage viewing. Audience The weekend draws several crowds at once. The Kids Village is built for children up to 12, the Mimosa 5K had more than 1,500 runners in 2023, and the Atlanta High School Art Exhibition brings students from more than 50 schools, who compete, exhibit and sell their work. Most say they will be back: 98 percent of attendees in the festival's survey planned to come back the following spring. Track record The first festival brought the Metropolitan Opera and the Philadelphia Symphony to Atlanta. It stopped in 1941 for the war, was revived in 1964 by the Women's Chamber of Commerce, moved to Lenox Square during the 2008 drought and came back to Piedmont Park in 2009. Its first presenting sponsor, in 2012, paid for a free Saturday night concert by Roberta Flack. The 2025 promotional campaign ran across TV, radio, print and social, and the festival valued it at more than $385,000. Brand presence The presenting sponsor's name travels with every mention of the festival, in paid media, online and on site; Associated Credit Union held it in 2026. Below that, sponsors can name one of the festival's assets, such as the International Stage, Kids Village, High School Art Exhibition, beer garden, gates or Mimosa 5K, sample in the VIP area on Saturday and Sunday, and take display space in the park up to 40 by 20 feet. Coca-Cola named the Main Stage in 2026, and Dollywood Parks and Resorts with Pigeon Forge presented the 2026 Kids Village. Top sponsors hold category exclusivity with first right of refusal on the following year.
