Austin's New Year is the city's official, free New Year's Eve celebration, held at Auditorium Shores since 2010 with live music running from 7 PM through 12:30 AM against the downtown skyline. The event draws an estimated 40,000 attendees. The crowd is broad and local, families and visitors alike enjoying more than a dozen food trucks and a full bar lineup in a family-friendly setting. Austin also serves as the Central Time Zone host of CNN's New Year's Eve Live with Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen, projected to reach more than 1 million viewers nationally and ranking number one in cable news.
