Overview The Bondi to Manly Ultra runs 80km around Sydney Harbour in a day, from Bondi Beach past Watsons Bay, the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge to the finish on Manly Beach. It follows the Bondi to Manly Walk, a coastal track of clifftops, harbour foreshore, national park and city streets, and runners take it solo or as relay teams of two or four. Bondi to Manly Walk Supporters, the charity that looks after the track, owns the race. In 2026 MARI, which also runs the Nike Melbourne Marathon Festival and the Great Ocean Road Running Festival, took over its operation. On site The start is at Bondi Pavilion. The route splits into four legs, with changeovers at Lyne Park in Rose Bay, Milson Park in North Sydney and Clontarf Reserve, and the last leg climbs over North Head before dropping into Manly. Aid stations along the course carry water, food and medical support. Solo runners must be 18 and carry a head torch, a thermal blanket, a compression bandage, a rain jacket and at least 800ml of water, with a 10-minute penalty for every missing item. Every finisher gets a medal and a tee, and runners carry timing chips with live location tracking. Audience The field splits between ultra runners covering the whole 80km and relay teams whose members run about 20km or 40km each, Relay handovers happen at the three changeover parks, where the next runner and the team's support crew wait for the incoming leg. Track record The first edition ran on November 5, 2022. Johnson and Johnson held the title in 2023 and 2024, and in 2024 610 runners finished the full 80km, led by Mark Langley in 6:04:01 and Cheryl Greenway in 7:23:58. The race is a UTMB Index event. Solo and relay entries for the 2026 edition sold out before race day. Brand presence DENZA took the title in 2026, when the race ran as the Bondi to Manly Ultra powered by DENZA and the solo distance was named the DENZA 80km Ultra. Salomon, Neuro, Wyndham Hotels and Fitness Outcomes partnered the same edition. Proceeds from the first race went to Bondi to Manly Walk Supporters, which maintains the track and the public land around the harbour.
