About this listing
Overview Broadway Dallas, the nonprofit once called Dallas Summer Musicals, presents the touring Broadway series in Dallas with Broadway Across America, the national presenting network run by John Gore's JGO. Most shows play the 3,420-seat Music Hall at Fair Park, and a few play the Winspear Opera House. A show sits in town for one to three weeks at eight performances a week, so a season partner is in the building for most of the year rather than for one weekend. On site The coming season brings Buena Vista Social Club, Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas!, a new production of The Phantom of the Opera, The Notebook, Hell's Kitchen, Hadestown, Water for Elephants, Beetlejuice, Death Becomes Her, The Book of Mormon and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Partners show up where the audience already looks: lobby signage and video loops, window and door clings for each show, a full-page color Playbill ad that can change with every title, and a lobby display or activation during the shows. Exterior signage at the Music Hall faces the Fair Park grounds, and the hall has its own hospitality spaces, including a membership suite and VIP parking. Audience Broadway Across America's audience profile runs 60% women, and 46% of patrons are 35 to 54. 42% of households earn over $100,000. The Dallas series has about 20,000 subscribers and expects around 375,000 people a season. Most come from across North Texas, and the education program reaches more than 100 zip codes. Talent and Influencers The talent is the touring companies of current Broadway hits: Alicia Keys' Hell's Kitchen, the Tony-winning Hadestown and Book of Mormon, and the North American tour of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. JGO itself is led by 14-time Tony-winning producer John Gore, and its family includes Broadway.com, The Broadway Channel and BroadwayBox. Backstage tours and access to show artwork, as approved, are part of what a partner can offer clients. Track record Broadway Dallas has presented Broadway to North Texas for generations and ranks among the most attended Broadway series in the country. Hamilton, Wicked and The Lion King have played here. Broadway Across America and its Canadian arm reach more than 7 million people in 45 markets and once sold nearly 40% of North American touring Broadway tickets in a season. Funding from the state's Brimer Bill is backing a major renovation of the Music Hall. Brand presence American Airlines, Texas Instruments and WFAA are the current season sponsors, and Forvis Mazars has its name on the Music Hall membership suite. The Broadway series itself carried Germania Insurance's name for several seasons, and that title position is now offered as a fully customized partnership with category exclusivity. Partner logos ride on a Dallas marketing budget averaging $1.2 million a season across print, broadcast, direct mail, digital and out-of-home, plus email to more than 80,000 people.
