Overview Burlington Wine and Food is a grand tasting at HULA Lakeside on the shore of Lake Champlain, and in 2026 it poured more than 200 wines beside eleven restaurants, with James Beard finalists and Good Food Award winners among the exhibitors. It runs on one Saturday in late June as two three-hour sessions, with Vermont-made spirits, chef demos, wine seminars and live jazz on the same floor. Mike and Tracy Stolese founded it. In 2026 the tasting closed a festival week of smaller dinners around Burlington. On site HULA Lakeside sits about a mile from downtown Burlington, and the tasting uses its indoor rooms and tent-covered space outdoors. One ticket covers everything in its session - food sampling, wine tasting, the presentations and the music. The 2026 week ran Nourish to Flourish at The Wheeler House in South Burlington for Common Roots' food equity and farm education work, the Champlain Dinner Club, which matches strangers by quiz and sends them to a dinner revealed on the day, a family-style Wine and Friends dinner at Bramble in Essex, and a ten-seat Butcher Room dinner at Hen of the Wood with the Austrian organic estate Familie Reinisch. Audience Each session is capped at 700 and the room is 21 and over. Vermont law bars bottle sales on site, so guests order bottles on forms at the festival and collect them afterward from a retail partner. The founders describe the crowd as "obviously a food and wine audience" and the festival as a way to put new restaurants and suppliers in front of it. Track record The Vermont Business Magazine dates the festival to 2010. Its 2026 edition carried about 75 exhibitors, and the festival publishes The Tasting Room, a newsletter of wine guidance.
