Overview Carolina Open Air is an 18-and-over bass music festival in Charlotte that began in 2023 as a Zeds Dead takeover, the duo playing three sets across the weekend, and in 2026 ran twice, a spring edition in April and a summer edition in August. Each edition is two days of dubstep, drum and bass and trap at Blackbox Outdoors on East Sugar Creek Road. Disco Presents co-promotes it with Sugar Society. Disco Presents says it produces more than 1,000 club nights, arena shows and outdoor festivals a year across over 100 cities, among them Freaky Deaky, Lights All Night and Sunset Music Festival. On site The festival uses both halves of the Blackbox site. Doors open at 4:30 in the afternoon and the daytime sets play outdoors in the venue's back lot, which in 2023 held food trucks, space to sit and recharge, and bounce houses. At night the after-dark sets move inside the Blackbox, a room of about 1,000 on two standing levels. Talent and Influencers Zeds Dead headlined both nights in October 2023 with Hamdi, Smoakland, VCTRE, Mary Droppinz and TINYKVT, and on the first night, after Onhell went back to back with Eazybaked inside the Blackbox, Zeds Dead closed the after-dark set past midnight. Tape B and Daily Bread headlined in June 2025, with Opiuo, Sippy, Maddy O'Neal, Detox Unit, ALLEYCVT and DRINKURWATER below them. The April 2026 bill carried Netsky, Crankdat, Wooli, Level Up, Zingara, Jessica Audiffred and Capochino, and LSDREAM, Ravenscoon and AHEE led the August 2026 edition.
