About this listing
Overview Cascade Bicycle Club is the largest statewide bicycling nonprofit in the country, based in Seattle, and it produces the Pacific Northwest's best-known group rides. The headliner is the Seattle to Portland Bicycle Classic (STP), a 206-mile ride from the University of Washington to Portland that regularly sells out. Around it sits a full season: the Ride from Seattle to Vancouver and Party (RSVP), Chilly Hilly on Bainbridge Island, the Emerald City Ride over the West Seattle Bridge, Flying Wheels, the Ride for Major Taylor, the Revel Revolution Ride, the Lake Union Family Ride, the Kitsap Color Classic and a set of multi-day tours from Walla Walla wine country to the Methow Valley. On site Every ride has a start and finish area with a sponsor expo, rest stops along the route and a finish line party. Sponsors get booth space at the finish or on course, logos on the event page, route map, rider bibs and pre- and post-ride emails, inserts in rider packets, social posts and start and finish banners. Brands can go further with a branded rest stop, a finish line photo backdrop, a rider recovery lounge with sampling, or jerseys for the STP ride ambassadors who pedal the whole route. Title and presenting rights are open on most rides and across the tour series. Audience Adult riders from Seattle, the Eastside and the rest of Puget Sound, plus a large travelling group from Oregon and British Columbia for STP and RSVP. They run from first-time century riders and families to seasoned randonneurs, and they spend on bikes, gear, nutrition, travel and lodging. Cascade's members ride with the club all year. Talent and Influencers The voices here are the riders and the club. Cascade names a group of official STP ambassadors each year, from dad-bod first-timers to randonneurs, who share their training and ride-day stories. Affinity clubs such as Ampersand Bikes Club, Iron Riders and Outspoken Cycling ride STP and RSVP as partners, and Cascade's communications team places stories with local TV, podcasts and national outlets. Track record STP has run every July for more than four decades, and Bicycling Magazine calls it one of the best cycling events in the nation. Cascade has produced rides in the region for more than half a century, runs free group rides all year, teaches bike skills to tens of thousands of Washington students through its Let's Go program, and funds its advocacy and education work through these rides. Brand presence Alaska Airlines presents STP and Western Washington Honda Dealers has presented RSVP. Other partners include Amazon, Microsoft, DoorDash, REI Co-op, Waymo, Zenni Optical, Lime, BMC, Athletic Brewing, IKEA, Tailwind Nutrition, Perkins Coie, Stoel Rives, the Washington State Potato Commission, King County Metro, Sound Transit and the Seattle and Washington State departments of transportation.
