About this listing
Overview The Chiclets Cup is the street hockey tournament run by Spittin' Chiclets, Barstool Sports' hockey podcast, and the hosts come with it: the whole cast is on hand for the weekend, and watching is free. Games are three on three plus a goalie, on rinks built to half NHL scale with real boards, real netting and real referees. Barstool built the tournament with HockeyFest, the traveling street and pond hockey festival produced by Jones Entertainment Group; Barstool's own line on HockeyFest is that it is "the lollapalooza of street hockey." Ryan Whitney, who played for the Penguins, Ducks, Oilers and Panthers, started the podcast at Barstool in October 2016. Paul Bissonnette became a permanent host in 2018 and Keith Yandle joined full time in 2025. On site Between games there is a hardest-shot contest, mini-stick rinks and a shooting-accuracy game, music plays at the rinks through the day, and food and drink vendors work around them. The Boston editions run at Harpoon Brewery, which pours its own beer. All ages get in. The bar is 21 and over with ID, and dogs stay home. At Buffalo RiverWorks in 2022 the tournament added five temporary rinks to the permanent outdoor ones, plus a golf simulator and bubble hockey. Audience Most of the people on site are playing. The 2022 Buffalo edition registered more than 900 roller and street hockey players on over 90 teams, and former NHL players, Barstool staff and hockey social media creators entered teams alongside them. Divisions run by age and gender, down to an under-9 division that plays four on four. Talent and Influencers The 2025 Boston build-up ran as a rivalry on the podcast's own TikTok: "Yands and the Stranglers" against "Biz and the Selects," Yandle's team against Bissonnette's. In Buffalo in 2022 the Friday-night party had Boston Levi headlining with Barstool's DJ Dante, and a participants-only registration party ran the night before at Labatt Brew House. Track record The tournament started in 2020-21 as Barstool HockeyFest, launched in Detroit, and took the Chiclets Cup name as it moved around North America. Buffalo RiverWorks hosted the third edition in July 2022. Boston took it in September 2025, at Harpoon Brewery, free and open to the public. Brand presence Sponsor booths sit among the rinks, games and food, per Harpoon's event page. The 2022 Friday party in Buffalo ran as the Pink Whitney Party, named for the pink lemonade vodka New Amsterdam built with Whitney in 2019. HockeyFest's own partner roster lists the NHL, NHL Alumni and eight NHL clubs.
