Overview Christkindlmarkt Bethlehem, presented by Univest Financial, is ArtsQuest's German-style Christmas market in the Christmas City. It fills PNC Plaza at the SteelStacks campus, under the old Bethlehem Steel blast furnaces, for six weekends from mid-November through the week before Christmas. It is one of the largest and best-attended Christmas markets in the country and anchors the Lehigh Valley's holiday season. On site Heated tents hold aisles of handmade work from about 150 artisans and craftspeople, 44 retail vendors, and Germany's Käthe Wohlfahrt with its handmade ornaments, nutcrackers and collectibles. Outside, Winter Wonderland adds St. Nicholas, the Glass Tent, heated igloos, ice carving demonstrations, food and a hospitality space on the Levitt Lawn. Live Christmas music plays through the day, and ticketed extras include Breakfast with St. Nick and An Old Fashioned Christmas tastings. Sponsors can become the official auto dealer, present the free Friday night community hours or Breakfast with St. Nick, brand a market tent, or book a 10x10 activation on Saturdays. Audience Families, holiday shoppers and day-trippers from Eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York and across the Mid-Atlantic, many of whom make the market a yearly tradition. ArtsQuest reaches its audience through an email list of 85,000 subscribers and programming that reaches more than 1.8 million people a year. Talent and Influencers The market's draw is its makers: juried artisans, glassblowers, ornament makers and ice carvers working in front of guests, along with choirs and live Christmas music. St. Nicholas visits families at Winter Wonderland and hosts Breakfast with St. Nick. Local TV partner WFMZ-69 News covers the market through the season. Track record Christkindlmarkt has run in Bethlehem for more than 30 years and drew over 128,000 visitors at a recent edition. Travel + Leisure has named it one of the top holiday markets in the world, and it was a USA Today Readers' Choice winner six years running. ArtsQuest, the nonprofit behind Musikfest, produces it.
