About this listing
Overview The Colorado Springs Marathon starts and finishes at the Pioneers Museum downtown and runs north on the Greenway and Santa Fe trails, turning near the Air Force Academy, on a USATF-certified course that qualifies runners for Boston. It bills itself as a high altitude event. Race day in early October carries the marathon, a half marathon, a 5K and a Kids K for children 10 and under, and the 2026 edition was billed as the 13th annual. Toyota was the presenting partner in 2026. On site The marathon and half start together on Vermijo Avenue, cut through downtown into America the Beautiful Park and pick up the Greenway Trail through Monument Valley Park: about 15 feet wide, cement for the first mile and packed pea gravel for the next three, then paved from Van Buren past the Old North End. The half turns just south of Garden of the Gods Road. The 5K loops through the same park, and the Kids K runs on the flat paths around the museum, where every child gets a No. 1 bib, a shirt and a medal. The expo and packet pickup run the day before. Beast Pacing leads pace groups, and finishers get a post-race party and a free massage. Audience It is a local race with a military streak: by the race's 2025 figures, three in four runners came from the Colorado Springs area, from Monument and Manitou Springs to Falcon, Fountain and Fort Carson, and 30% were active military or veterans. Every registration includes a donation to Team RWB. Spectators gather at the museum, America the Beautiful Park and the Edmonson Trailhead. Brand presence The presenting partner's logo goes on the bibs, the medals, both sides of the shirt and the start and finish truss, with eight boards in the finish chute, a 20-by-20 space at the finish festival, a 10-by-20 expo booth, and the option to host packet pickup at its own location. Platinum partners hold category exclusivity with finish-festival and expo space and boards in the chute; official partners get a 10-by-10 at both. Terms run one to three years, and every level reaches runners through the race emails, social posts and goody bags.
