About this listing
Overview The Create and Cultivate Festival is a two-day business conference for women, staged as an outdoor festival in Los Angeles and billed by its organizer as the world's largest festival for women in business. Guests move between four stages, a brand marketplace and a meeting garden, and the first night ends in a headline concert. Founder Jaclyn Johnson and CEO Marina Middleton run it, alongside a Supper Club dinner series, the Future Summit in Austin and the WorkParty podcast. On site The campus mixes indoor and outdoor space. The Quad is the main stage and great lawn, where the keynotes and the concert happen. Creator Compound covers the creator economy, Core Campus runs wellness sessions and workshops, and Study Hall teaches hands-on skills such as building an AI workflow or a pitch deck. The Commons holds the brand activations, beauty services and product trials. Connect Garden hosts 15-minute meetings booked ahead in the festival's CONNECT app. A Small Biz Marketplace, a Mess Hall, a bookstore with author signings and a VIP lounge fill out the grounds, and every guest leaves with a gift bag. Audience The organizer describes founders, CEOs, executives, creators, investors and students, skewing Gen Z and millennial and drawn from major US markets and abroad. Guests book their days around one-to-one meetings, sit in on panels and workshops, shop the marketplace, queue for beauty services and photo sets, and stay on for the concert. Talent and Influencers Past festival keynotes include Emma Grede, Alix Earle, Halle Berry, Whitney Wolfe Herd, Ciara, Ayesha Curry, Sophia Bush and Jordan Chiles. Cardi B closed the most recent edition and Doechii played the first. Earlier Create and Cultivate conferences hosted Kim Kardashian, Jessica Alba, Issa Rae and Meghan Markle. Creators and podcasters host the Creator Compound sessions. Speakers for the next edition have not been announced. Track record Create and Cultivate ran conferences and pop-up events across US cities for about a decade before relaunching as a festival in Los Angeles. The first festival sold out, and BizBash named it one of the most innovative meetings of its year. The second edition roughly doubled the crowd. At the first festival, the organizer reports, more than 1,000 guests signed on as mentors through CONNECT, 459 met hiring managers and 303 founders met investors. Brand presence Brands activate in The Commons and around the grounds, and the Create and Cultivate team builds many of the activations in house. Partners that produce their own receive a logistics guide covering design standards and access. Formats range from footprints of 10 by 10 feet and up to stage and programming ownership, photo sets, happy hours, tastings and product seeding. One card brand ran a marketplace that rotated eight female-founded pop-ups across the two days. Independent founders can take a shared space in the Small Biz Marketplace.
