About this listing
Overview Denver Summit FC is Denver's NWSL club, and its first home match, against the Washington Spirit at Empower Field at Mile High on March 28, 2026, drew 63,004 people, the biggest crowd in league history. The league admitted the club in January 2025 for a record $110 million expansion fee, and it began play in 2026 as Colorado's first professional women's team since 1998. Fans picked the name in a July 2025 vote, and the crest's mountains are angled at 26 degrees for the inaugural year. It plays its 2026 and 2027 seasons at a 12,000-seat temporary stadium in Centennial; its permanent home is a 14,500-seat stadium at Santa Fe Yards, at Santa Fe Drive and I-25 beside the city's second-busiest light rail station. Matchday The inaugural season used three grounds: the opener at Empower Field, two spring matches at Dick's Sporting Goods Park and, from July 3, Centennial Stadium. The Centennial ground sits on a 43-acre campus with eight soccer fields, under a partnership with the City of Centennial and the Cherry Creek School District; when the club leaves, the modular seating comes out and a 4,000-seat stadium stays for the district's non-football sports. Premium seats and suites are sold at Centennial, and Club 5280 members buy discounted tickets. In 2026 Denver7 and The Spot carried the club's matches locally. Talent and Influencers Lindsey Heaps came home to Colorado for the first season: a 2019 World Cup winner, 2024 Olympic gold medalist, 2018 NWSL MVP and 2021 U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, with more than 100 appearances for Lyon. Nick Cushing was appointed head coach in 2025, and the club signed Cameroon international Naomi Eto from Paris Saint-Germain in September 2026. The founding ownership group, led by governor and majority owner Rob Cohen, took in Mellody Hobson, Mikaela Shiffrin, who joined in May 2025, and Peyton Manning, who joined that June. Track record Before a ball was kicked, season-ticket deposits sold out with 10,000 on the waitlist, the most in the NWSL, and more than 45,000 tickets were gone for the opener weeks ahead of it. The club says merchandise sales at its brand launch ran 60% ahead of any other NWSL team, and that more than 200 stories around the launch added up to over a billion impressions. It gave $100,000 to the Cherry Creek Schools Foundation as part of the Centennial deal. Brand presence Partnerships are sold as long terms: front of kit and back of kit on five-year deals and official partner on three. Founding partners get category exclusivity, ownership of a marquee asset, access to the owners and coaches, a themed match to present each season and invitations to the club's milestone moments. Canvas Credit Union became the first uniform sponsor in February 2026, taking the kit sleeve as a founding partner, and CommonSpirit, the other founding partner, gave its name to the club's performance center. Nike makes the kit. The front of the shirt is the biggest position on it, worn by the players and on the replica jerseys fans buy.
