Overview Dirtybird Campout x Northern Nights is a three-day electronic music camping festival in the redwoods at Cook's Valley Campground on the Eel River, and in 2025 it set its River Stage and Bird Bath Stage on opposite sides of the Humboldt-Mendocino county line. It joins two independent Northern California festivals: Dirtybird Campout, the Dirtybird label's summer-camp festival of games and team challenges, and Northern Nights, which started at Cook's Valley in 2013. The site is about 190 miles north of San Francisco. Entry is 18 and over. On site Five stages ran in 2025: the Main Stage, the two river stages, the Grove Stage among the redwoods, where the day's movement and wellness sessions also run, and the Late Night Bunker, where sets go to sunrise. A silent disco and community-run Our Friends stages filled the gaps, and labels and collectives took over stretches of the schedule. Between sets there are Dirtybird's camp games and talent shows, yoga and art installations. And there is the river. Camping runs from free first-come tent sites to Redwood Grove camping with a concierge, car, 4x4 and RV sites, and RV spots on the river. Audience It is a camping festival. Guests drive in, set up for the weekend and have until noon Monday to clear out, so the same crowd crosses between tents, stages and the river for three days. Northern Nights says it was the first festival to introduce legal on-site cannabis sales and consumption, and in 2025 the Tree Lounge was the site's consumption area. Campers 21 and over may bring in a case of canned beer or a box of wine. Talent and Influencers Jungle played a DJ set in 2025 on a bill with Zeds Dead, Aluna, Justin Martin, Levity, Walker and Royce, Cut Chemist, J.Phlip, Justin Jay and VNSSA. The first 2026 names were CloZee, Tape B, Justin Martin and LP Giobbi, with Flowdan, Todd Edwards, Ivy Lab and Gene Farris further down. Track record The two festivals go back together: Northern Nights put a Dirtybird Showcase on its very first bill. Dirtybird Campout paused, then came back in 2025, the label's 20th-anniversary year, as a joint event at Cook's Valley, and that first combined edition sold out. Brand presence Partnerships are sold in three tiers through Aerial Entertainment, a music marketing and branding agency. The schedule already runs on takeovers: in 2025 labels and collectives were handed whole blocks of a stage, and the Grove Stage doubled as the wellness area by day.
