About this listing
Overview The Dow Championship is the only official team event on the LPGA Tour: 72 two-player teams play 72 holes at Midland Country Club in Midland, Michigan, alternating foursomes (alternate shot) and four-ball (best ball) rounds for a $3.3 million purse. It joined the tour in 2019 as the Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational, the LPGA's first team event to award official money and points, and took the Dow Championship name in 2024. The 2020 edition was canceled for COVID-19. On site Championship week opens with the Dow Run/Walk 5K, run with Greater Midland, and a Monday Pro-Am, set up for 2026 as 116 amateurs playing with LPGA professionals across 29 teams. During the official rounds the course carries a free STEM Center, the Covenant Kids Zone, Autograph Alley along the 18th hole and public viewing decks at holes 1, 4, 17 and 18. The Diamond Club puts two open-air suites at the 18th green and the 18th tee, with player visits and walk-up music, and the Sand Trap Social and Eagles Nest decks sit on 12 and 17. Solar-powered water stations run around the course, and every plate and cup is compostable. Sunday closes with Sundaes on Sunday, a birthday party for the mascot, Champ. Audience Veterans and active military get in free with a guest, and they have their own suite between the 16th and 17th holes with a pancake breakfast, a chicken dinner and chair yoga through the week. Families come for the STEM Center, which more than 3,000 young people went through in 2025. The week runs on local help: the tournament counted 1,012 youth and adult volunteers in 2025. Talent and Influencers Past champions include Ariya and Moriya Jutanugarn (2021), Jennifer Kupcho and Lizette Salas (2022) and Atthaya Thitikul with Yin Ruoning (2024). In 2026 Gina Kim and Yana Wilson won their first LPGA Tour titles here, world No. 1 Nelly Korda was in the field, and Juli Inkster, a Hall of Famer just short of 66, made the cut with Angel Yin to become the oldest player to make a cut in LPGA Tour history. Track record The tournament says it had given more than $3.5 million to local nonprofits by 2026, including its #TeamUp grants, which guarantee 36 nonprofits $4,500 each year. It put the economic impact of the 2025 edition at $16.9 million across Bay, Isabella, Midland and Saginaw counties. It was the first fully GEO Certified sustainable tournament on the LPGA Tour and reports zero waste every year. Brand presence Signage scales from hole signs and tee fences to gable branding and course-wide mesh, and the scoreboards and partner board carry names too. Partners can take a quadrant of the STEM Center, brand a water station, host a happy hour for up to 40 guests in on-site hospitality, book a private clinic with LPGA players for up to 25 people, or play the Pro-Am, where each foursome of amateurs gets two tour professionals playing nine holes apiece. The 5K sells naming rights, and the veterans' tent takes individual activations.
