About this listing
Overview FlyBy Ads, founded in 2015 and based in Denver, installs artwork on warehouse rooftops under airport approach paths, where passengers see it from the air. It holds inventory in 32 US markets and eight international ones: London, Paris, Rome, Sao Paulo, Singapore, Sydney, Tokyo and Toronto. The US list reaches from Seattle to Miami and includes New York and Los Angeles. FlyBy says hundreds more are available on request. On site Each unit is a flat warehouse roof near the runways, usually among truck yards and parking lots. Artwork goes down in panels on FlyBy's own temporary system, which uses no metal and makes no penetrations in the roof, and LED strips can outline it after dark, in color or choreographed into an animated display. Rooftop equipment can poke through. The flagship is MIA05 in Miami, a 280 by 400 foot roof of 112,000 square feet beside a canal, directly under the primary MIA flight paths. FlyBy also brands heliport pads and cuts one-acre crop circles. Audience The viewers are airline passengers on approach: visitors arriving in each city, and residents flying home. They look down through the cabin window before the wheels touch the tarmac. FlyBy names Art Basel and the Super Bowl as two of its most popular events, and times runs to go live three weeks before an event starts. Track record Amazon Prime Video's Jack Ryan covered six LAX rooftops in 2019 and won a Gold OBIE. Bottega Veneta's Hidden Outdoors followed at LAX in 2022. Saint Laurent took MIA05 for Art Basel the same year. Topgolf lit a Las Vegas roof for the 2023 F1 Grand Prix. In 2026 Prada ran Impossible Beaches on the Miami roof, which made the 2026 Obie shortlist, and Nissan put a life-size Nissan Z with working lights on a Nashville roof. Brand presence A brand picks a market and sends standard artwork files, and FlyBy handles compliance, production, installation and aerial filming. Flights run four weeks, with shorter runs discounted. Final creative is due 45 days from contract start, at 1 inch to 1 foot and 300 dpi. Every placement needs the building owner's final approval, and if a site falls through FlyBy provides a comparable location or a full refund. Proof of posting is taken at ground level. Aerial footage needs air traffic control clearance and can take up to 20 business days.
