Overview The Georgia National Fair is Georgia's official state-sponsored fair, held over about ten days each October on a 1,100-acre fairgrounds in Perry, and every concert on its main stage is included in the price of admission. It opens on the first Thursday of October and mixes livestock and horse shows, youth competitions, a midway and fair food, home and fine arts judging, a circus and nightly fireworks. The Georgia Agricultural Exposition Authority runs it on the Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter, a state-owned complex that state representatives Larry Walker and Henry Reaves conceived in 1985 to promote Georgia agribusiness; it opened in 1990 on 628 acres and hosts more than 260 other events a year. On site The Agricenter holds 10 acres of exhibition space, two arenas, three exhibit halls, a 480-stall horse barn and parking for 13,000 vehicles. At fair time the barns fill with sheep, rabbits, swine and poultry, and there are sheepherding, milking and honey-making demonstrations. The Georgia Living Center houses the home and fine arts competitions, and the Georgia National Schoolhouse is a living-history museum of a century of Georgia farm life. Reithoffer Shows has run the midway rides since 1990. Concerts start at 7:30 p.m. on the Georgia National Stage. Audience Members of 4-H, FFA, FBLA, FCCLA, HOSA and TSA come to exhibit and compete in the equine, livestock and poultry shows. Discount days let children 10 and under in free, and on set days active-duty service members, veterans, military families and first responders get in free with ID. Talent and Influencers The 2026 concert series booked Lonestar, Hanson, Darryl Worley, Fuel, Tucka, Jesse McCartney, Tracy Byrd, Southside Worship and Rumba Latina, one a night on most nights of the fair. Track record The first fair ran in 1990, and there was no fair in 2020. Attendance was 390,000 in 2004. The fair has won more than fifty awards for its agricultural events and education programs, and the Southeast Tourism Society has named it a Top 20 Event for October.
