About this listing
Overview Greenwich Polo Club is a high-goal polo ground inside the Conyers Farm community in backcountry Greenwich, Connecticut, where the public comes on Sunday afternoons to watch 16- to 20-goal polo, and home to Peter Brant's White Birch, the team that won the 2005 U.S. Open Polo Championship. The season runs June to September on three grass fields through the East Coast High Goal Series: the American Cup, the East Coast Silver Cup, the East Coast Gold Cup and, at the end of summer, the East Coast Open, the club's marquee tournament. The club was founded in 1981. On site Gates open at 1, the match starts at 3 and it is over by about 5, with divot stomping on the field at halftime. The two sides of the field run differently: on the east lawn guests may bring their own food and drink and sit on blankets and low chairs, under reserved umbrellas or in 10-by-10 cabanas, while outside alcohol stays off the west side, home of the West Lawn Club tables. Around the field are the grandstand SkyBoxes with a server, field-side cabanas whose lawn runs to the edge of the pitch, and the Players' Lounge, a tent with furnished seating, shade, live music and a premium bar. The Pony Bar pours polo-themed cocktails, gourmet food trucks park on the grounds and a 25-by-15-foot video screen faces the field. Every arriving car is handed the Sunday Polo Post program. Audience The club's deck says its guests drive in from Fairfield and Westchester counties, New York City and northern New Jersey, and from as far as Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Maine, and that many split the year between Connecticut or New York and a second home. The average online ticket order in 2022 was over $200. Dogs on a leash are welcome, and children under 12 get in free. Talent and Influencers Mariano Aguerre, Facundo Pieres, Hilario Ulloa and Nacho Figueras have all played at Greenwich. Brant founded White Birch in 1979 and rose to a 7-goal handicap as an amateur by 1989; the 2005 U.S. Open was the team's 31st title at 26 goals or higher, and Aguerre, a Hall of Famer, captained it in the club's 2025 season. In 2013 Prince Harry brought the Sentebale Royal Salute Polo Cup to the club to raise money for children in Lesotho. Track record Audi took presenting rights to the East Coast Open in 2015 and still held them in 2026. Jennifer Kircher, marketing manager at Audi of America, described the partnership this way: "This continued partnership between Audi and Greenwich Polo Club not only affirms Audi's commitment to and support of the East Coast Open tournament, but it also provides an organic and exciting platform for our brand to engage with fans of the sport." Brand presence The East Coast Open shows what a tournament partner gets: the name on the tournament, a VIP afternoon for 250 guests in the North Hospitality Tent on the day of the final, vehicles displayed across the grounds and on the field for the opening and closing ceremonies, and a team in the tournament, played as the Audi Polo Team through White Birch. Interactive Brokers presented the East Coast Gold Cup in 2026. A sponsor can name the Pony Bar or park a car, a boat or an aircraft beside it, and the boards around the field and on top of the main scoreboard are sold as broadcast-visible positions.
