Overview The HBCU Live Xperience is a two-day San Antonio weekend built around Historically Black Colleges and Universities, and its first edition, in April 2026, was built around the inaugural HBCU Live Xperience All-Star Games for NAIA men and women from more than 20 black colleges. The weekend pairs the games with a statewide College and Career Fair for high school students and the Step X step show, also in its first year. The Austin Area Urban League hosts it through its San Antonio office. The league is an affiliate of the National Urban League and runs programs in education, jobs, entrepreneurship, health, housing, justice and tech training. On site The 2026 weekend was set at Alamo Stadium and the Alamo Convocation Center. Its schedule put the College and Career Fair on Friday at 10 in the morning, planned to connect more than 1,000 high school students with colleges and universities, and the All-Star Games on Saturday at 2 in the Convocation Center, a men's and a women's game with rosters split into named teams under college coaches. Audience The Urban League built the weekend for students, families, alumni and community members. The Friday fair is aimed at high school students choosing a college, and the Saturday games draw on NAIA HBCU basketball programs, including those of the HBCU Athletic Conference. Talent and Influencers The 2026 rosters drew NAIA HBCU players from more than 20 schools. The University of the Virgin Islands had graduate forward Brandon Rasmussen, a St. Croix native, selected for Team Nirenberg under Langston University coach Jon Warren, and Fisk University had Nicholas Beaird-Kennard and Mark Cooper selected.
