About this listing
Overview Hyde Park Winter Wonderland builds a six-week winter fair inside one of London's Royal Parks every November, with more than 150 rides, attractions and shows, an ice rink laid around a Victorian bandstand that the event bills as the UK's largest outdoor rink, and a bar kept at minus 10 degrees. It started in 2007 as an open-air Christmas market with a few funfair rides, an ice rink and a big wheel, and the 2026-27 season is its 19th. PWR Events runs it. Hyde Park covers 350 acres and is one of London's eight Royal Parks. On site The site runs as a set of worlds. Santa Land has 16 classic rides, from Flying Jumbos to Santa's Runaway Train, and added Mrs Claus and the Elves' Workshop in 2025. A Bavarian Village of beer halls carries live music. The Magical Ice Kingdom, carved from ice, is themed on Neverland for 2026 with Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity. Around them run the ice rink, the Real Ice Slide, Bar Ice, the Giant Wheel, the Time Machine Coaster and more than 70 game stalls, and Le Chalet Fire Pit Stage has an open-air bar, a live band and DJ sets. Audience The festival speaks to Londoners and tourists alike. Entry is by timed slot and the popular sessions sell out in advance, so visits are planned: people build itineraries in the event's activity planner, book packages online and preload ride and game credit onto the Winter Wonderland app, which they scan at every ride and stall and use to track the rides they have done. Weekday slots in November are sold as the quieter time in the park. Winter Wishes sessions, started in 2023, open the site free at reduced capacity and lower sensory levels to charities, hospitals and underserved schools. Talent and Influencers Shows run through the season. Gandeys K-Pop Dragon Circus joined the bill for 2026. Zippos Circus made Winter Wonderland its Christmas home from 2009, and between 2016 and 2019 the indoor ice rink staged the Nutcracker, Cinderella, Peter Pan and Paddington on ice. Children's television presenter Justin Fletcher brought Justin's Christmas Singalong to the park in 2024. Track record The event ran every winter from 2007 through 2025 except 2020, when COVID-19 canceled it; it came back in 2021 with timed entry. It added the Bavarian Village and moved the rink to the bandstand in 2011, opened the Magical Ice Kingdom and The Great Hall beer tent in 2012 and Bar Ice in 2014, and marked its 10th year in 2016 with Munich Looping, billed as the world's largest transportable roller coaster. Brand presence Partners attach to named places inside the park. For 2026 Pepsi Max presented Le Chalet Fire Pit Stage, Viva.com ran payments across the site, Joybuy joined as a partner and Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity partnered on the Magical Ice Kingdom. Rides, rinks and attractions can each take a partner, and a presenting partner sits above the whole event.
