Overview The iDaph Signature Series is a year of short races around Asheville, Hendersonville and Brevard, North Carolina, from a Thanksgiving 5K through Biltmore Park to a 100-meter dash where dogs run beside their owners in lightweight, middleweight and heavyweight classes. The calendar runs 5Ks, 10Ks, a 12K, trail races and one-mile fun runs, and iDaph puts each event at 300 to 1,600 people. Every signature race is tied to a local cause. iDaph Events, based near Asheville, was founded in 2011 by Daphne Kirkwood. On site Each race has its own theme and its own ground. Trick or Trail sends a costumed field through Hendersonville's Historic 7th Avenue District and gives prizes for the best costumes. The Ugly Sweater Run starts and ends at Oskar Blues Brewery in Brevard, with a free beer on the bib. Bark and Bolt sets up a dog fair beside the finish in Patton Park. TreeTops is 8.5 miles and nearly 1,000 feet of climbing in DuPont State Forest, the only trail race run there, capped at 300 and finished with a wooden medal on a leather cord. Frostbite, in Fletcher in February, has run for more than 35 years. The Brevard Classic is the official race of White Squirrel Weekend, and the Railway Races run on the Ecusta Trail, a greenway along a historic rail line. Audience People collect these races. The Signature Series medal goes to anyone who finishes six signature events in a year, capped at 100 people, and the Holiday Hustle medal, capped at 200, goes to anyone who runs the Turkey Trot, the Ugly Sweater Run and the New Year's Resolution Run. Families come with kids, who get discounted entry at several races, and with dogs at Bark and Bolt. She Slays, which starts and finishes at the Pardee Cancer Center, lines a stretch of its route, Memory Mile, with yard signs honoring people who have fought cancer. Track record Across all its events, iDaph counts more than 12,000 participants a year and more than 26,000 email subscribers. The Ugly Sweater Run reached its 7th edition in 2026, and She Slays its 3rd in 2027. The South Asheville Turkey Trot is the only running event permitted in the Biltmore Park neighborhood. Brand presence Hunter Subaru presents most of the calendar, Aetna presents Trick or Trail and the Railway Races, and UNC Health Pardee presents the Brevard Classic as its official health partner, with its own medical team on the course. The causes get their own billing: Blue Ridge Humane Society at Bark and Bolt, Friends of DuPont Forest at TreeTops, Pardee Hospital Foundation at She Slays. iDaph gives every runner free race photos, and a photo partner's logo is watermarked on each one. Other partners take presenting rights, the finish chute and truss, the race bib, hydration stations or the race shirt.
