Overview Keep Hush is a London-born dance music platform that runs more than 10 club nights a month across 80-plus cities, each thrown with a local crew, and its lineups are proposed by its own members through curators including Oblig, Emerald, Virgil Hawkins and KISH. Its line is "Back the Underground". Beside the nights it films DJ sets for its Play Back archive and YouTube channel, keeps a Keep Hush Radio playlist on Apple Music and publishes writing on local scenes. FredCC and Freddy Masters started it in 2016. On site A Keep Hush night is co-billed with the local venue or crew that hosts it, as in Club Cielo x Keep Hush in Los Angeles or EMMORAL CULT x KEEP HUSH in Macau. People in cities it has not reached can sign up to be told when it arrives, and a WhatsApp community runs alongside the nights. Talent and Influencers The Play Back archive maps where it has been: Retro Cassetta in Marrakech, Yasmin in Ho Chi Minh City, willillah in Beirut, Visages in Denver, Vigro Deep in London, Vhoor in Barcelona, EZYA in Mexico City, AKASAMA in Rio de Janeiro, Mengzy in Shanghai and Hassan Abou Alam in Cairo, with a run of Paris sets from KAÏLYS, NOIZEY KIDS, GOUZOU, mezzer and k1000. Nia Archives and Oppidan have also played for it. The editorial side covers local scenes, among them Cairo promoters running DIY parties outside the clubs and budots, a sound that came out of an internet cafe in Davao City. Track record Keep Hush began as Fred's blog on underground music, streetwear and art. After running club nights separately in the UK and the Netherlands, the two founders moved to London and set up in a Soho office building, recording mixes in a studio downstairs with a team of three, and outgrew it. In 2022 the platform published its own 'U Going Out' survey on how people's clubbing habits had changed after the pandemic.
