Overview The Lancaster County Super Fair is ten days of county fair in Lincoln, Nebraska, with the Great American Ribfest on its closing weekend and a grandstand card that runs from figure-8 racing to a truck and tractor pull, a demolition derby and two nights of bull riding. Parking is free and children five and under get in free. The nonprofit Lancaster County Agricultural Society, founded in 1870, runs it at the Sandhills Global Event Center, which the society opened as the Lancaster Event Center in 2001. On site In 2026 the AuctionTime Grandstand Arena opened on the first Sunday with a show-and-shine car show and figure-8 races, then ran I-80 Promotions go-kart racing, the Nebraska Bush Pullers Truck and Tractor Pull, a demolition derby and the Extreme Bull Riding Tour on the last two nights. The Free Music Series plays the Beer Garden all ten nights, and Heart of America Midway and Carnival runs the rides. Outdoor acts included the Paul Bunyan Lumberjacks, the NoWear BMX Stunt Show, a Wildlife Encounter, the Horn T Petting Zoo and live wood carving, and the first Sunday doubled as a Hispanic Festival from noon to 11. At Ribfest four ribbers, Armadillo's BBQ, Austin's Texas Lightning BBQ, Chicago BBQ Company and Redlinc BBQ, cooked through the final three days. Audience It is a family fair by rule: anyone under 16 must come with an adult 19 or older, and drop-offs are not allowed. Lancaster County 4-H and FFA members get their own fair days, and open-class livestock, static exhibits and fairgoer competitions run alongside them. Track record The event center renamed itself in December 2023 under a 15-year naming rights deal with Sandhills Global, and the society took on a $10 million modernization funded by a State of Nebraska Shovel Ready grant. The grounds were booked for the National High School Finals Rodeo in 2026 and 2027. The center counts more than 500 event days a year and puts its annual visitor days at up to 564,000. Brand presence Sponsors can take a single event, the whole fair or a year-round place at the event center, where the listing sells digital and lighted signs. The gate sponsors, U-Stop, Russ' Market and Super Saver, hand out buy-one-get-one admission coupons in their own stores, and Staybridge Suites Lincoln was Ribfest's official hotel. Ribfest sells a VIP Bulls and BBQ package that rolls bull-riding seats, fair admission, parking and a three-bone rib dinner from Redlinc into one ticket. The fair backs itself with a marketing campaign it sizes at more than $50,000.
