About this listing
Overview Lincoln Park Mayfest shuts Armitage Avenue between Racine and Sheffield for a three-day block party in mid-May, with a band stage named for each cross street and the Spring Fine Art Mart of local and national artists set up along the avenue. The neighborhood's Ranch Triangle Community Conservation Association hosts it, and entry is free with a suggested donation at the gate that goes to the association. The 2026 edition was the fifth. Special Events Management, a Chicago street-festival producer, runs it, and its promoters bill it as Chicago's summer kickoff. On site In 2026 the music ran from 4 p.m. on Friday to 9 p.m. on Sunday. The Racine Main Stage carried a run of tribute and party bands, from Jessie's Girl and Dancing Queen: An ABBA Salute on Friday night to Matchbox 90's and Simply Elton on Sunday, with RAVIV's electric cellos in the afternoon. The Sheffield Stage mixed Double Treble's dueling pianos, the Four Star Brass Band, Into The Heart, a U2 tribute, and Rosie and The Rivets. Between the stages run dozens of art and retail vendors, local food and drink, and activities for kids. Vendor space sold out in 2026. Audience It is a neighborhood party first. The host is the Ranch Triangle's residents' association, which works on development and community life in the district, and in 2026 its president credited the gate donations with keeping its annual fests going. School of Rock bands played both weekend days in 2026, Saturday on the Sheffield Stage and Sunday on the Racine Main Stage. Brand presence Special Events Management promotes the festival across digital and traditional media and to an opt-in email list of more than 70,000. Sponsorship is sold at a presenting or title level, a mid level and an entry-level activation.
