About this listing

Overview Louder Than Life is Danny Wimmer Presents' four-day rock and metal festival in Louisville, Kentucky, and its 2026 bill put Iron Maiden, My Chemical Romance, Tool and Pantera at the top, with Pantera's set billed as the band's only U.S. show. The festival calls itself the Disneyland of rock: seven stages share the Highland Festival Grounds at the Kentucky Exposition Center with 17 thrill rides. It started in 2014 as a two-day festival at Champions Park, moved to the Expo Center in 2019 after flooding worries canceled the 2018 edition, and went to four days in 2021. DWP also runs Welcome to Rockville in Daytona, Sonic Temple in Columbus, Inkcarceration at the Ohio State Reformatory, Aftershock in Sacramento and Bourbon and Beyond in Louisville. On site Gates open at 10:45 each morning. The site is cashless, paid by card, phone or a registered RFID wristband, and bags have to be clear. Whiskey and craft beer are sold alongside the food. It is all ages, with a parental advisory for language, and re-entry is limited to on-site campers and hotel-package buyers. The festival runs Sober Life, a substance-free space with three recovery meetings a day, and a Parent Pod for nursing and pumping. Phone-charging lockers can be booked ahead. Audience The festival calls its crowd the Loudmouths. Most of them drive in: the festival's own list of top home states starts with Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Indiana, New York and Illinois, and Kentucky comes eighth. Talent and Influencers The 2026 lineup ran past 200 acts. Beyond the headliners it carried a farewell set from Megadeth, a Circa Survive reunion, Limp Bizkit, Gojira and Mastodon, and Cavalera playing Sepultura's Roots. In 2024, the festival's tenth anniversary, Slayer reunited after a five-year retirement on a bill of 140-plus bands. Track record Attendance grew from about 36,000 in 2014 to 128,000 in 2019 and a record 180,000 in 2023. Weather cut into both 2024 and 2025: in 2024 Hurricane Helene's winds canceled the Friday, and many of that day's bands played pop-up shows in Louisville bars and clubs instead, and in 2025 storms on the fourth day forced several acts to cancel. DWP says every one of its festivals broke its attendance record in 2025. Brand presence Partners can take a stage, a premium or artist lounge, an interactive installation, gaming or charging stations, shuttles, custom merch or a sampling footprint, and can use the festival's marks in their own promotions with DWP's approval. A standard official-partner deal pairs a 10-by-10 activation space and a sampling window with festival app integration and a 15-second spot on the sponsor reel that plays on the main stage between sets. DWP sells the same package across Louder Than Life, Welcome to Rockville and Aftershock.
