Overview LUNA Fête is Arts New Orleans' free festival of light, art and technology, and its centerpiece is a projection mapped across the front of Gallier Hall: in 2024 it put Marie Laveau, the Rougarou and the Mayfair Witches on the building's facade. The festival runs over several nights in November, filling downtown from Gallier Hall to the Piazza d'Italia with LED installations, lasers and projected artworks. The 2024 edition was its 11th. Arts New Orleans is the city's arts council, and it marked its 50th year in 2025. On site The footprint runs on foot between Gallier Hall and the Piazza d'Italia. The Gallier Hall projection anchors one end, and LED, laser and projected works fill the blocks toward the Piazza. Gallier Hall also holds the LUNA VIP Suites, with complimentary food, an open bar and a viewing box facing the show, and parking can be reserved ahead through LAZ. Around the festival Arts New Orleans runs LUNA Studios, a hands-on training series for artists working in light and projection. Talent and Influencers The 2024 Gallier Hall projection, Spirits, was directed by Camille Gross and Olivier Magermans, Gross on imagery and Magermans on motion design and sound. It drew six figures from the city's folklore across the facade: Lasher and the Mayfair Witches, the Rougarou of Cajun legend, fortune tellers, the voodoo priestess Marie Laveau, vampires and the Tree of Life. Track record A projection on Gallier Hall was one of the main attractions from the festival's early years, and NOLA.com filmed one there in 2014. Arts New Orleans moved the 12th edition from 2025 to November 2026 after an $80,000 federal grant fell through, saying the move would bring the free festival back at full scale. Brand presence Sponsors are grouped into circles named for the footprint: presenting partners, then the Gallier Hall Circle, the Lafayette Street Circle, the Artist's Circle and the Local's Circle, with media and nonprofit partners alongside. The 2024 presenting group included the National Endowment for the Arts, the New Orleans Tourism and Cultural Fund and the Downtown Development District. The VIP Suites at Gallier Hall are sold as their own package.
