Overview Millennium Park Summer Workouts are free outdoor fitness classes that DCASE runs on Saturday mornings from late spring to Labor Day. Each Saturday brings four back-to-back 45-minute classes: Pilates, yoga, cardio kickboxing and Zumba, led by local instructors. The partnership runs the full Saturday season and suits wellness, athletic and health brands. On site Classes run from 8 a.m. to just before noon on the Great Lawn, under the steel trellis of the Jay Pritzker Pavilion, or in Wrigley Square at the park's northwest corner when festival setups take the lawn. Live musicians play through the Pilates and yoga sessions. Participants bring their own mats and water, and American Sign Language interpretation is available on request. Audience Most participants are women. Gym and training groups use the Saturday classes as a standing meet-up, and yoga draws the biggest crowd of the four. The classes are open to every level, so beginners and regulars share the lawn with the downtown skyline behind them. Talent and Influencers A rotating roster of dozens of Chicago fitness instructors leads the classes, and Chicago musicians accompany Pilates and yoga live on the lawn. Track record The series returns every summer to Millennium Park, the Midwest's most-visited attraction. Attendance has grown season over season, and the most popular classes fill a large part of the Great Lawn. Brand presence Grant funding from the McDonald's Active Lifestyles Endowment, managed by the Millennium Park Foundation, keeps the classes free, and the Chicago Transit Authority also supports the program. DCASE pitches the workouts to brands selling health and wellness products or services, with activation and sampling space alongside the class area.
