Overview Musikfest is ten days of music spread through downtown Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and nearly all of it is free to walk into: in 2026 15 of its 16 stages charged no admission, carrying more than 500 performances by 400-plus acts, from polka on the Festplatz up to the ticketed headliners on the Wind Creek Steel Stage at PNC Plaza. It starts with a preview night and runs from the end of July or start of August into the second weekend. Bethlehem sits about 60 miles north of Philadelphia and 80 miles southwest of New York City. ArtsQuest, the Bethlehem nonprofit behind the ArtsQuest Center and the SteelStacks arts campus, has produced it since 1984; its 2025 deck put the reach of all its programs at more than 1.8 million people a year. On site The free stages carry German platz names, Festplatz, Liederplatz, Lyrikplatz, Volksplatz, laid across the historic downtown and the South Side, and the Festplatz sets out long rows of dining tables with polka bands every night. Families head to the Familienplatz, where the Crayola craft tent turned out 5,250 crafts in 2026. The 2026 edition ran themed days, including Beach Day, '70s Day, a British Invasion Weekend and Inclusion Day, plus SoberPlatz in its second year, sensory-friendly Inclusion Zones and a Music Industry Conference with 40 sessions. The grounds are cashless, and a free app carries the schedule and maps. Audience In 2026 visitors came from 46 states, Washington, D.C., and three other countries, and 25,904 rides were taken on the LANTA shuttle lines into the festival. A record 39,075 people used the festival app. More than 1,000 volunteers from 28 local businesses and groups helped run the 2026 edition. Per the festival's 2025 sponsor deck, a year's crowd bought 32,110 Musikfest mugs and 734 kegs of beer. Talent and Influencers The 2026 Steel Stage ran eleven shows: Grupo Niche, Russell Dickerson, John Mulaney, Third Eye Blind, Train, T.I. with DaBaby, Bailey Zimmerman, Parker McCollum, AJR, and sellouts for Yellowcard with Taking Back Sunday and "Weird Al" Yankovic. Riley Green, The Avett Brothers, Darius Rucker, Chicago, Nelly and Jordan Davis headlined in 2025. Earlier headliners include Sabrina Carpenter, Snoop Dogg, Willie Nelson, Maroon 5 and Jerry Seinfeld. For 2026 nearly 2,000 artists applied for the free stages, and about a third of the lineup was new. Track record Jeff Parks founded the festival in 1984. Attendance: 1.03 million in 2024, 1,449,000 in 2025 and 1,260,630 in 2026, the third-highest in its 43 years. The festival put its economic impact on Bethlehem and the Lehigh Valley at $78 million in 2024 and $108.3 million in 2026, when it sold 52,890 Steel Stage tickets. Brand presence Partner names are built into the map: the Wind Creek Steel Stage at PNC Plaza, the Yuengling Musikfest Cafe, the Crayola tent in the Familienplatz, and the app powered by PNC. In 2026 the festival counted 180 sponsors, partners and activations, and the Institute for Moravian History came in as Main Street presenting sponsor. Brands can also sponsor a day or a free stage, or take activation space from 100 to 800 square feet for all ten days, a weekend day or a weekday.
