About this listing

Overview New Jersey Motorsports Park is a road-racing complex on more than 500 acres in Millville, next to the airfield where P-47 fighter pilots trained in the Second World War, and its main circuit, Thunderbolt Raceway, is named for the plane. A second road course, Lightning, and the Tempest Raceway karting complex share the grounds. On most days the tracks belong to the people who drive them: car and motorcycle clubs, racing schools, private testing, manufacturer and dealer events, and two members-only clubs. The park opened in 2008 as a $150 million build, with ARCA and the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series racing there when it opened, and it counts more than 16 million people within 100 miles, across the Philadelphia, New York, Baltimore and Washington metros. On site Thunderbolt was repaved in 2023: 2.25 miles, 12 turns, a half-mile straight and about 40 acres of paddock. Lightning runs 1.9 miles through 10 corners and the park's biggest elevation changes, and its 20-acre paddock holds a four-acre skid pad and autocross area. Tempest runs two outdoor kart tracks where gas-powered European karts reach 55 mph, and an Arrive and Drive session gets up to 20 laps in 15 minutes. The Finish Line Pub sits between the two road courses, the Apex Pro Shop is in the Thunderbolt paddock, and the Officer's Club, Cumberland County's largest banquet hall, seats up to 500 with a view of Thunderbolt. Exotic car garages line Thunderbolt trackside. Around the tracks sit axe-throwing stalls, pickleball courts, a disc golf course, an outdoor pool and an 842-kilowatt solar installation that covers most of the park's power. Audience Most people at NJMP arrive with a vehicle. Track-day drivers bring their own cars and bikes, more than 400 clubs and race groups use the circuits each year, and the Drivers Club and Riders Club each run more than 40 member-only days with instructors, track walks and, for riders, free camping. Spectator weekends work differently: MotoAmerica Superbikes opens its race paddock so fans stand close to the bikes and riders, and on the third Thursday of each month Motorless Night opens the raceways to walkers, runners and leashed dogs. Track record The park's spectator calendar has carried MotoAmerica Superbikes, the New Jersey Speed Tour Vintage Car Festival, the AHRMA Vintage Bike Festival, the Northeast Karting Challenge, a 14-hour American Endurance Racing event on Thunderbolt, and Tracktober, a German performance car festival. FuelFest returned in 2024 after two years away. Food truck festivals, concerts, car shows and mud runs along the back roads fill the off-track dates. Brand presence NJMP sells names on its structures: the Thunderbolt Timing Tower, the tallest structure in the park; the Thunderbolt and Lightning bridges, each carrying an 8-by-80-foot banner; each of the three paddocks; and up to 1,000 feet of front straight on Thunderbolt or Lightning, in view of every club on track and of the television cameras at major spectator weekends. Trackside billboards, main gate fencing and a classroom wall wrap reach every driver and rider who enters. Event sponsors take vendor space, signage and promoted posts for a single weekend, and naming rights to the whole facility carry a five-year minimum. In 2026 TD Bank's name was on the food truck festival and on Motorless Night.
