Overview Fairplex Presents Oktoberfest turns the Pomona fairgrounds into a 21-and-over German beer hall on Friday and Saturday nights for three weekends each October, with an oom-pah band in the Oktoberfest Halle, tribute bands on the Festplatz Stage and a DJ in the Black Forest Tanzhalle. Nights run 6 to 11 p.m. and one ticket covers all of it. The 2026 edition was its 12th. Fairplex, the nonprofit that runs the 500-acre fairgrounds campus in Pomona and the LA County Fair, produces it and its Fairplex Insiders email list counts more than 500,000 people. On site In 2026 an alphorn ensemble met guests at the entry, and the Rheinlanders played six sets in the Halle between an alphorn-blowing contest, men's and women's stein-holding and bier trinken contests, and a closing chicken dance contest. The Festplatz Stage booked a different tribute act each weekend: Amor Prohibido for Selena, DSB for Journey and the Red Hot Cholo Peppers. DJ Joe Vinyl ran the Tanzhalle until 11:30. The bars poured Spaten Oktoberfest Ur-Märzen, Spaten Münchner Hell and Franziskaner Hefeweizen next to seasonal craft beers and cocktails across several beer gardens. Cruzer's Brat Haus grilled Thüringen brats and knockwurst, a Pizza Haus made festbier pizza and flammkuchen, and King Taco sold tacos under the line "At Oktoberfest, everything is German, including Mexican food." The venue is cashless. Audience This is a night out for adults: entry is strictly 21 and over on a physical ID, and there is no re-entry, so guests stay for the evening. Fairplex asks them to come in dirndls and lederhosen, and a stein bundle puts a souvenir stein and a first pour in a guest's hand at the gate. Fairplex sells group rates and hospitality for parties of 20 or more, and a Sheraton Fairplex package that pairs two tickets with a suite for the night, for guests who would rather not drive home.
