About this listing
Overview The Orange Bowl 50/50 Raffle is sold at the Orange Bowl Committee's events through bowl season, and the winning ticket is drawn with two minutes left in the fourth quarter of the College Football Playoff game at the Capital One Orange Bowl. Half the pot goes to the winner and half to Orange Bowl Cares, the committee's youth, education and community program. Tickets sell at the game, at Fan Fest outside Hard Rock Stadium, at the pep rally the night before, at the Kickoff Party and the VIP Pre-Game Party, and at the AutoNation Orange Bowl Basketball Classic. The Orange Bowl Committee is a nonprofit created in 1935 to bring tourism to South Florida; it runs the second-oldest bowl game with more than 400 volunteer members and a full-time staff of 30, and puts on more than 50 events a year. On site Sellers work the crowds in uniform carrying seller boards, buyers get a ticket receipt and a confirmation email, and the raffle is promoted on the stadium scoreboard during the game. Fan Fest is the pre-game tailgate at the stadium's Fountain Plaza, free for game ticket holders, with a rock climbing wall, team bands and cheerleaders, a main stage usually headlined by a country act, and the Burger Battle, where restaurants from each team's city and one from Miami compete. The pep rally fills Lincoln Road in Miami Beach with both teams' marching bands, cheerleaders and mascots. The Basketball Classic at Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise is anchored by the University of Florida and starts with a holiday tailgate on the tarmac. Audience Most of the game crowd travels: the committee's economic impact figures put 72% of game attendees as coming from outside Florida. The pep rally draws team fans and alumni alongside South Florida residents, Fan Fest is built for families, and the committee says roughly half of all game attendees pass through the Fan Fest compound before going into the stadium. The Basketball Classic is the only NCAA Division I basketball played in Broward County. Track record Orange Bowl and its partners have committed more than $50 million to South Florida over two decades. The Orange Bowl Youth Football Alliance supports more than 13,000 young football players and cheerleaders across eight leagues from north of Lake Okeechobee to Key West, and the committee has put more than $7 million into youth sports since the alliance began in 1999. Its Legacy Parks program has committed more than $25 million to rebuilding recreational parks since 2009, with nine projects built across Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. Brand presence The presenting sponsor's name goes into the raffle's title and its wordmark into the program logo. It rides on every raffle touchpoint: the sellers' uniforms and co-branded hats, the seller boards (which the committee will cut in shapes such as an orange, a tree or a cruise ship), the raffle website and pre-game emails, the confirmation email, the ticket receipt (with a QR code linking to the sponsor) and the scoreboard, plus at least ten social posts. The sponsor can also put up a second-chance prize, drawn in the second quarter and presented on the field by a company representative. The package carries exhibit space, videoboard spots and PA reads at Fan Fest, the pep rally, the VIP party and the Basketball Classic.
