Overview The Orange Bowl Florida High School Basketball Showcase is a free one-day combine in Davie for Florida high school juniors and seniors, boys and girls, who have no Division I offer, and the Orange Bowl says more than 1,500 student-athletes have come through it. Coaches from about 30 Division II, III, NAIA and junior college programs watch tests, drills and scrimmages, then meet players to talk financial aid and scholarships. Scouts and recruiters are not allowed in. It runs at the David Posnack JCC as the basketball counterpart to the committee's football showcase. The Orange Bowl Committee is a nonprofit created in 1935 to bring visitors to South Florida through its bowl game, with more than 410 volunteer members and a staff of 30. On site The weekend opens on Friday night with a meet and greet for high school and college coaches. Saturday morning carries the combine and drills on the court and an information seminar for parents on financial aid and NCAA and NAIA eligibility. After the session, players, their parents and the college staffs meet to discuss scholarship offers. Audience The Orange Bowl recommends a 2.5 GPA across 16 core courses and a 920 SAT or 18 ACT, so the players on the floor are college-eligible students aiming at small-college rosters. Parents come with them, and athletes arrange their own transportation. Track record The committee's high school showcases, which started in 2017, had generated more than $9 million in scholarships and financial aid for more than 400 student-athletes by its 2025 count. Memorial Healthcare System presented the 2024 and 2025 basketball editions. In February 2026 Baptist Health extended its Orange Bowl deal on a multi-year basis and became presenting sponsor of all three showcases, basketball included. Brand presence Associate partners can hand promotional items to players, coaches and parents, put their logo on the event T-shirts and jerseys, take exhibit space and signage, collect data, join the Friday coaches' reception and sit in the Orange Bowl media plan. Six associate sponsors stood alongside Baptist Health in 2026.
