Overview The Orange Bowl Florida High School Girls Flag Football Showcase is a free one-day tryout at St. Thomas University in Miami Gardens, where Florida high school girls run timed tests and position drills for coaches from Division II, III and NAIA programs and then sit down with them to talk scholarships. It is open to seniors and juniors who have not accepted a Division I offer, and scouts and recruiters are not permitted. It sits beside the committee's football and basketball showcases. The Orange Bowl Committee is a nonprofit created in 1935 to bring visitors to South Florida through its bowl game, with more than 410 volunteer members and a staff of 30. On site The attending colleges run the testing, with each player working at her own position, and the day ends with players meeting coaches and admissions staff. The 2026 edition ran on January 24 from 9:30 a.m. College representatives, volunteer coaches and general volunteers all register to staff it. Audience The Orange Bowl recommends that entrants carry a 2.5 GPA across 16 core courses and a 920 SAT or 18 ACT, so the field is academically eligible girls looking for college roster spots below Division I. Parents attend with them, and players pre-register. Track record Baptist Health presented the 2026 edition, and in February 2026 it extended its Orange Bowl deal on a multi-year basis to present all three showcases: football, girls flag football and boys and girls basketball. The committee's high school showcases, which began in 2017, had generated more than $9 million in scholarships and financial aid for more than 400 student-athletes by its 2025 count.
