Overview The Orange Bowl Florida High School Football Showcase is a free Saturday combine at St. Thomas University in Miami Gardens that puts Florida high school players without a Division I offer in front of college coaches, and by 2025 more than $8 million in scholarships and financial aid had gone to more than 400 of its players since the first edition in 2017. Coaches come from about 30 to 40 Division II, III, NAIA and junior college programs, and the showcase is run in association with the National Football Foundation and its local chapters. The Orange Bowl Committee, a nonprofit created in 1935 to bring visitors to South Florida through its bowl game, runs it with more than 410 volunteer members and a staff of 30. On site On Friday night the committee hosts a meet and greet at the Hard Rock Hotel where high school and college coaches network and talk about players. Saturday is the combine: tests, drills and scrimmages by position, starting at 8 a.m. in 2026, while parents sit in on an information session about financial aid and NCAA and NAIA eligibility. Players and colleges then meet to discuss scholarships. Audience Players are juniors and seniors, and the Orange Bowl recommends a 2.5 GPA across 16 core courses and a 920 SAT or 18 ACT. In 2024 more than 300 came from 33 high schools with an average GPA of 3.05. Parents come to the combine, and high school coaches come to the Friday reception. Track record In 2023 participants received more than $1.4 million in financial aid. In 2024 nearly 30 colleges attended and 60 players were recruited onto college rosters. The 2025 edition was the ninth. Brand presence Baptist Health became presenting sponsor in 2021 and in February 2026 renewed on a multi-year deal that added the flag football and basketball showcases. Associate partners get exhibit space and signage, their logo on the event T-shirts and jerseys, data collection, a place in the Orange Bowl media plan, the chance to hand promotional items to players, coaches and parents, and an invitation to the Friday coaches' reception.
