About this listing
Overview The Palm Beaches Marathon is a December race weekend on the West Palm Beach waterfront, where the marathon runs a flat, USATF-certified Boston qualifying course along the Intracoastal Waterway and ABC affiliate WPBF-25 has carried the race live on television. Saturday carries a 5K and a 10K; Sunday brings the marathon, the half marathon and a four-person marathon relay. The race lists itself as part of the Abbott World Marathon Majors Age Group World Championships program, and it calls itself the largest race in Palm Beach County. K2 Road Sports, a Palm Beach County race producer, runs it. On site Every race starts and finishes on Flagler Drive between Datura and Evernia Streets, and the Sunday courses loop north through Manatee Lagoon and south past the city's museums, parks and historic neighborhoods. The expo and packet pickup open Friday at noon at the Meyer Amphitheatre and run through Saturday, with no race-day pickup. Pace teams run with the half and full marathoners together. Sunday ends at the amphitheater with a post-race party and awards, three deep in every five-year age group, and the marathon pays prize money. Runners get a short-sleeve shirt on Saturday and a long-sleeve one on Sunday, and photographers at six spots on the course hand finishers their photos free. Audience It is a destination race: registration runs about three-quarters Florida, and in a typical year the field carries runners from 46 to 48 states and around 25 countries. Hundreds run a race on Saturday and come back for another on Sunday. Friends and family follow the runners on a live tracking app, and a group of BibRave influencers posts from the course and the finish. Track record K2 Sports Ventures bought the race from the Chamber of the Palm Beaches in 2016, and U.S. Polo Assn. came on as title sponsor in 2025. WPBF-25 produces a preview show the week before the race along with interviews in the run-up, and the Palm Beach Post has run the race on its sports front. The runner-tracking app logged more than 180,000 views in 2024. Brand presence Only the title and presenting partners go on the finish-line tapes, which are broken by winners on both days; the title partner's mark goes on the finisher medal itself and the presenting partner's on the lanyard. Every partner goes on the back of the race shirts, and most levels include a 10 by 10 booth at the expo and passes to the VIP area at the amphitheater, which serves a buffet and a bar on Saturday and Sunday. Partners' 15- and 30-second spots run on the video board through the six hours of racing, and the pace car sits at the expo before it leads the field. Companies can enter staff and relay teams in the race's corporate team competition.
