About this listing
Overview Planet Philanthropy is Florida's statewide conference for professional fundraisers: more than 350 nonprofit executives, development staff and board members spend three days in sessions on donor stewardship, planned giving and campaign growth. It is run by the AFP Florida Caucus, made up of the Florida chapters of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. The conference moves around the state, and the 2026 edition was held at the Sunseeker Resort on Charlotte Harbor. On site Keynotes and short mainstage talks run in plenary, and the program splits into six education tracks in breakout rooms, from Donor Strategy and Stewardship and Grants and Planned Giving to Events and Experiences and Leadership and IDEA. Pre-conference sessions run ahead of the main program. Exhibitors work from tables, with the higher partner tiers placed up front. There is an opening reception, a charging-station lounge and a conference app. One night goes off-site: in 2026 the Tropic Like It's Hot sunset social took over Harborside Gardens, a private waterfront tiki venue, and the dress code was casual tropical. Audience The caucus describes the room as nonprofit leaders from social services, education, health, religion and the arts who are actively looking for products and services to advance their missions. They come from Miami to Jacksonville and from Pensacola to Tampa. Some fly in from other states and Puerto Rico. Talent and Influencers Rachel Muir, founder of the League of Extraordinary Fundraisers, gave the 2026 opening keynote on campaigns. Chris and Martha Thomas, co-founders of The Defensive Line, closed on their family's work to end youth suicide. The mainstage mini sessions that year included Mark Becker of Cathexis Partners on real-world uses of AI, Jess Cronk Brandt of Bloomerang and Aaron Sheklin of Farther. Roger Ali spoke as well; he was AFP Global's board chair at the time. Brand presence The presenting partner's logo is built into the conference logo. It welcomes attendees at the opening session with a one-minute infomercial, and it presents sessions of its own. Track partners introduce the speakers in their track's room. Smaller partners put their name on the lanyards, the conference bag, the hotel room-key sleeves or the Wi-Fi password. Every partner is thanked from the stage in plenary and in email to a list of more than 7,000 contacts, and partners get the opt-in attendee email list two weeks before the conference opens.
