About this listing

Overview Rick Mercer's 2027 comedy tour is a coast-to-coast solo stand-up tour by the comedian behind This Hour Has 22 Minutes and the Rick Mercer Report, routed through more than 20 Canadian cities from Saskatoon to St. John's. It follows his 2025 Stand-Up for Canada tour, which played 21 cities across 10 provinces between September 11 and October 19, 2025. The MRG Group's live division presents it with Bruce Hills Entertainment. MRG describes itself as Canada's largest independent entertainment company, working across live entertainment, hospitality, ticketing, travel and digital media. On site The 2025 shows were theater nights with Mercer headlining and rising comics opening: Sophie Buddle, a Juno Award winner, Mayce Galoni and Julie Kim. The Montreal date at L'Olympia was all ages with assigned seating. The route opens in Saskatoon and closes in St. John's, taking in the Prairies, British Columbia, Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes. Mercer launched the 2025 tour as an answer to calls for Canadians to stand up for the country during the tariff dispute with the United States, and the promoters bill the show on his political commentary and on bringing Canadians together. Talent and Influencers Mercer made his name on CBC television with This Hour Has 22 Minutes, Made in Canada and the Rick Mercer Report. His CBC special Talking to Americans drew 2.7 million viewers, which the tour calls the highest-rated Canadian comedy special ever. The tour deck credits him with nearly 30 Gemini and Canadian Screen Awards and four books, all national bestsellers. Track record The 2025 tour sold more than 40,000 tickets. The promoters report 7.8 million-plus paid impressions and 20.4 million in advertising value equivalency for it, with total reach above 2.3 billion. Brand presence There are three ways in. The presenting sponsor puts its name into the tour title, "The Rick Mercer Canadian Tour, presented by" the brand, with category exclusivity, its logo on every piece of marketing and venue screens, inclusion on ticketing pages, confirmation emails and CRM sends, verbal acknowledgment before the show and space to sample or activate inside venues. A tour sponsor becomes the official partner in one category across all cities. A show sponsor takes a single city, with branding in the venue lobby, and every level carries a ticket allocation for hosting clients.
