About this listing
Overview The Rossford Balloon and Fireworks Fest is a free summer festival in the Crossroads, the district where I-75 meets the Ohio Turnpike in Rossford, Ohio, built around hot air balloons lifting off at dusk and glowing after dark, and two pyro-musical fireworks shows. The Rossford Convention and Visitors Bureau and an event committee run it, with the City of Rossford behind the fireworks. The first edition ran over two nights in July 2025. On site The 2025 program paired balloon launches and evening glows with the two fireworks shows, tethered balloon rides, family fun zones, a food truck marketplace and live music from local and regional bands. The 2026 edition was drawn up as three days: balloons ascending at 6:30 on Friday and Saturday evenings, tethered rides up to 90 feet, a glow at 9, the Glovation Circus after it, and on Sunday a show of 100 lighted drones, with a beer garden, helicopter rides, a kids' zone and a car show for 100 years of cars. Pilots hand out trading cards at a meet-the-pilots hour. There is no seating, so people bring lawn chairs and blankets, and shuttle buses run from parking. Audience The 2025 crowd was mostly regional: 77% came from Northwest Ohio, 16% from elsewhere in Ohio and 7% from other states, and guest comments in the recap come from Perrysburg, Northwood and Temperance, Michigan, among others. Families set up on the lawn for the evening, and the festival recorded a Net Promoter Score of 94. Track record The 2025 opening night drew more than 10,000 people. Jenna C. of Cutting Edge Countertops, which sponsored the balloon rides that year, wrote afterward: "We had a blast and what a great event it was for us." The company asked to keep the balloon rides. The 2026 America 250 edition was canceled on July 16, 2026, the day before it opened, because of hazardous wildfire smoke. Brand presence The top position carries naming rights with a three-year option and puts the sponsor's logo inside the festival's own. Below it, partners each own a piece of the night: the Sunday drone show, with the logo flown in lighted drones, Heritage Day, the beer garden, the pilots' trading cards, tethered rides, the kids' area, food truck row, the circus, the digital screens, the car show, or a banner on a balloon basket. Most packages bundle hot air balloon rides, VIP seating on the balloon field with a pilot meet-and-greet, and a 30-minute tour of the fireworks set-up and its computerized control area. Nine of the twelve 2026 positions were marked sold in the sponsorship packet.
