About this listing
Overview San Francisco Art Fair brings close to 90 modern and contemporary galleries, local, national and international, into the Festival Pavilion on Pier 3 at Fort Mason for four days each April, with a program of public projects, performances and talks running between the booths. The 2027 edition is billed as the 15th. Art Market Productions produces it alongside Seattle Art Fair, Atlanta Art Fair and Art on Paper in New York; in 2026 Kelly Freeman was fair director and Nato Thompson, the founder of The Alternative Art School, was artistic director across the fairs. On site The fair opens on a Thursday evening and then runs three full days; in 2026 the hours were 4 to 9 p.m. on the Thursday, 11 to 7 Friday and Saturday, and 11 to 6 on Sunday. Beside the gallery booths it runs a Public Projects program, a Focus section, events and theater programming, a VIP program and events around town. The 2026 edition centered Asian American and Pacific Islander artists, with the Asian Art Museum and Stanford's Asian American Art Initiative as partners, participatory performances, murals and food programming by ABACÁ, and presentations from the Bella Feldman Estate, the Indigenous artist Terran Last Gun, 500 Capp Street and the Djerassi Resident Artists Program. Designed lounges sit on the floor for VIPs and visitors to step out of the aisles. Track record The 2024 fair drew nearly 30,000 visitors, by AMP's count. Across its four fairs AMP counted more than 100,000 visitors in its 2025 deck, with Seattle Art Fair at 35,000 in 2024 and Atlanta Art Fair at 15,000 for its first edition. Brand presence AMP sells naming at two levels, a title partner and a presenting partner, with dedicated activation space through the fair, product integrated into the programming, sampling, use of the fair's marks, and VIP lounges, private areas and event buy-outs. The lounges are built with designers, and AMP has worked with Ken Fulk and BoConcept on them. The fair lists Google, Pixar, Apple, Facebook, LinkedIn, Salesforce and Gap among its corporate partners.
