About this listing
Overview The Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show is 11 days of Arabian halter and performance classes at WestWorld of Scottsdale each February, where more than 1,600 horses from around the world compete for over $1 million in prize money while a shopping expo of 200-plus vendor booths runs alongside. The 2027 show is the 72nd. The Arabian Horse Association of Arizona, a nonprofit, produces it. It started in 1955 on the grounds of the Arizona Biltmore with 50 horses, moved to Paradise Park, a 150-acre property bought by Ann McCormick, and later to WestWorld. On site Doors open at 7:30 every morning, and the shopping expo runs from 10 a.m. until 6, or 7 on Fridays and Saturdays, selling jewelry, clothing and fine art beside equestrian gear. Classes run across several arenas, including the Equidome and North Hall, with a jumbotron and a live feed carrying the action. The show puts the Signature Stallion Futurity and Auction at more than $275,000. The Saturday Night Performance sells reserved bleacher seats, rose garlands and championship awards go to the winners, and Championship Night has its own prime rib dinner. Families get barn tours, a Meet a Horse program, a youth art contest and a coloring book. Audience Most of the crowd travels to be there: the show counts 75% of attendees from elsewhere in the United States and 3% from abroad, against 22% local. It reports a 99% satisfaction rate and says 91% come back every year. Top owners, trainers and breeders from around the world bring horses. Track record The show says its field has grown from 50 horses at the first show to nearly 2,000. The show puts its annual economic impact on the local economy at $29.6 million and its advertising and promotion at more than $1.5 million a year. The 2026 show benefited 11 organizations, including the Arabian Horse Foundation, Make-A-Wish Arizona, Phoenix Children's Hospital and Scottsdale Community College Equine Services. Brand presence Nearly everything at the show can carry a name: the Equidome VIP and arena lounges, the North Hall Arena, the jumbotron, the live feed, championship and division awards, the rose garlands, exhibitor back numbers and bags, the show program, barn tours, Meet a Horse, the youth art contest, the judges and volunteer lounges, even the bar cups and napkins. Around those, partners buy arena signage, daily PA announcements across the arenas, live-stream commercials, commercial exhibit space in the expo, VIP hospitality and a golf cart for the full show.
