Overview Seafair Weekend is three days on the shore of Lake Washington at Seattle's Genesee Park, with unlimited hydroplanes racing for the Apollo Mechanical Cup on the water and the Boeing Seafair Air Show in the sky above them. The Navy's Blue Angels headlined the air show in 2024, 2025 and 2026. The weekend is the finale of Seafair, the nonprofit summer festival that also runs the Torchlight Parade and the Seafair Summer Fourth on Lake Union, and Seafair marked its 75th anniversary in 2024. On site Gates run 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Grandstands line the waterfront facing the race course, and a Pit Pass puts fans in the hydroplane pits beside the boats and their crews. In 2026 the air show also flew a Marine Corps F-35B in vertical takeoff, an Air Force C-17, the Blue Angels' C-130 Fat Albert and a P-51 Mustang paired with an F-16, with the Blue Angels around 3:30 each afternoon. Premium seats run from the Captain's Club to The Deck, a 21-and-over platform raised above the crowd, to Skybox suites and a Blue Angels Floating Suite. The Dick's Drive-In Classic Car Show and a community stage built around military bands fill the park. Audience Part of the crowd never enters the park: boaters tie up along the Log Boom, anchored logs off the course that Seafair bills as the largest floating party of the summer. On land, Seafair runs a free shuttle in from the Columbia City light rail station, and Metro's Route 50 stops nearby. Seafair's own attendee research found 93% likely to choose a Seafair sponsor's product over a non-sponsor's. Talent and Influencers Andrew Tate and the U-1 Miss BWR Racing won the 2026 Apollo Mechanical Cup, his second straight, beating Jimmy Shane's U-27 Miss Apollo in a side-by-side final and setting a final-heat course record of 143.423 mph. The old mark, 141.880 mph, had stood since John Theoret set it in 2006. Aerobatic pilot Melissa Burns and the Army's Silver Wings parachute team were on the 2026 air show bill. Track record The Sunday racing goes out live on local television: four-plus hours on KONG in 2024, and FOX 13 Seattle in 2026. Boeing counts its partnership with Seafair at more than 75 years. Bill McSherry, a vice president at Boeing Commercial Airplanes: "Boeing is honored to support all of the family-friendly activities that celebrate the diversity of the Puget Sound." Brand presence The weekend's pieces carry partner names: Boeing on the air show, Apollo Mechanical on the hydroplane cup, Dick's Drive-In on the car show and, in 2026, Windermere on the free Friday general admission. Seafair sorts partners into signature partners, who title a signature event, then official sponsors, supporting sponsors, exhibitors and in-kind Friends of Seafair. The broadcast sells its own positions, from a presenting billboard to sponsored heats with trophy presentations and the pit tower cam, and The Deck and the Community Stage each take a presenting sponsor.
